Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

The summary, in three lines: no accounts, no sign-ups, no tracking — we don't know who you are and we have no server at all. Your location and your destination are sent to the weather and routing services, because without that no answer is possible; they travel with no name, no account and no identifier, and nothing is kept by us. Each request serves only to answer that request — we keep no history of where you've been or where you're going, because we have nowhere to keep it. This is the very thing our Play listing declares to Google: location sent, ephemeral use, no retention on our side. Your routes, favourites and settings stay in your own device's storage.

Who we are

The Levante app is an independent project that helps motorcyclists decide whether to ride, by showing the forecast along the route at the time you'll be passing each point.

For any privacy question you can contact: info@getlevante.com.

What data we collect

We collect none. There is no sign-up, no user account, no database of ours, and no analytics or advertising system of any kind inside the app. We don't know who you are, how often you use the app, or where you're going. What leaves your device goes directly to the services listed under Third-party services, and does not pass through us.

Location

The app asks for access to your location to do what it exists to do: tell you the weather where you are and along the way. Your location is obtained by your device and used inside the app.

To fetch forecasts, the coordinates of the points being looked up are sent to the weather and map services described below, because without that it is technically impossible to know the weather at that spot. Those coordinates travel without any identifier of yours — no name, no account, no device identifier.

During Trip mode, your location is tracked continuously while the app is open and on screen, to warn you about rain, wind and hazards ahead. If you minimise the browser or switch the screen off, the phone suspends the app and tracking stops. It ends when you end the trip.

Microphone and voice

The search fields have a dictation button. When you use it, speech recognition is done by your browser's or your system's engine — the app receives only the recognised text and never sees or stores the audio. Depending on the browser, that engine may send the audio to the browser maker's own servers to transcribe it; that step belongs to the browser and is covered by its policy. The Android app does not request the microphone permission — without it no audio capture is possible; if your system offers no speech recognition, the button tells you and you type the destination.

What stays on your device

The app stores in the local storage of your own phone or computer: your reference location, the places and routes you chose to save, the trips you scheduled, your decision profile, language, units, theme and the map downloaded for offline use.

These data never leave your device and are not accessible to us. You can delete them at any time by clearing the app's or site's data in your browser or system settings.

Because there are no accounts, there is also no copy held by us: if you clear the browser data, uninstall, or switch phones, you lose what was stored. Your browser may also delete it on its own if it runs out of space, or — on iPhone, with the app not installed on the Home Screen — after seven days without opening it. Install the app on your Home Screen to reduce both risks.

Third-party services

To work, the app talks to external services. Each of them receives only the minimum needed — typically geographic coordinates or the text of a search — and has its own privacy policy:

These services may, like any server on the internet, log the IP address of whoever contacts them. We have no control over those logs.

Cookies and tracking

The app uses no cookies, no advertising identifiers, and does no cross-site or cross-app tracking. We don't share or sell data to anyone, because we have no data to share.

Children

The app is meant for motorcycle riders and is not directed at children under 13, nor does it knowingly collect information about them.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data. As we neither collect nor store any personal data, there is nothing to access or erase on our side — the locally stored data is entirely under your control and you delete it whenever you want.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if accounts or server-backed features are introduced in the future — the update date at the top will change and the changes will be announced inside the app before they take effect.
